At UHS they retired a Flag and put up a new one. Jacqi got the opportunity to help with this process. She is on Student Council this year. It was a good thing for the Students at the high school to see. It helped promote Patriotism.

Jacqi was also in a skit for Homecoming Royalty. She was a HOOT!!!

Homecoming Windows

Jacqi is running for Homecoming Queen with Bryce Sprosty for King. There are different thing that they have to do during the week. One of the this is to paint a window on main street. They decided to paint the window at Marsens' Sleep Center. They had to include the Theme some how so the theme is Uintah goes Wilde (wilde is the last name of the principle).

This is the first part of the window then they decided to add more.

Bryce really wanted to add the white and black. It finished the window nicely. They wanted to advertise the events of the week.

This is the window at Zions Bank, done by some other kids.

The next two windows are done by Dallin (Jacqi's friend) and his running mate.

when there are more I'll put them on.

I will put there outfits on a.s.a.p. Each day they must wear a theme outfit.

Look for the windows down town.

Labor Day Weekend

On Labor Day Saturday our family went to Tabiona to help Randels Aunt and Uncle.
Randel's Aunt Leah takes care of his Uncle Scott and they needed help to get ready forWinter. So Randel's dad and brother put in new windows a new front door.
We helped spilt wood, They built her a new wood shed next to the house so it would be more convenient for Leah and Scott. Roofed the shed and put a new roof on the old Garage. It was a great day to help someone who has done so much for others. Leah is always helping others and has taken care of her family. It time someone helps back.

Sara Went to her Grandma and Grandpa's house down in Kingston, UT
She made bread, cookies, and sew and tied two quilts.
Sara with her beautiful rolls and bread that she made her self.
The rest of the family went down a few days later.
We helped tie R.J.'s quilt.

In Kingston they flood there lawns so Sydney and R.J. played in the water. It got deep in some spot. They sunk the boat.
The Sky and mountains are so beautiful down there I could not resist a picture.
We had so much fun. The day before we left we made a batch of bread and with the bread we made homemade pigs in a blanket. They were so delicious. The day we left we made a cake for a funeral, a big batch of black licorice Carmel, and a big batch of raisin cookies for Randel he did not get to go. Wait I forgot that we also made treat called sweet pop's.
I think that I gained about 10 lbs while I was there.
It was so peaceful and quiet. No stores or traffic, but I could still find the Diet Coke store each day.

Past Few Weeks

It has been a long time.
We have been so busy the last few weeks that I will get you caught up.
My Nephew, Taylor got his mission call today.
He is going to the Washington, Evert Mission.
This is the same mission that my other Nephew, Joe just came home from in May.
Cool, Taylor is so excited he leaves in November.
Taylor

Sydney took swimming lessons at the New Rec. Center.
She did so well and learned a lot.
We had other pictures but they must have been erased.
Jacqi and R.J. went to E.F.Y.
They went with Bryce and Lacey and (not pictured) Jeff.
They had so much fun. R.J really got into girls there.

My Nephew Nathan got Married and this was his open house in Vernal.
He married a girl from Washington State. Her Name is Jana.
This is at my Brother, Marks house.
The wind kicked up and I thought this was a cool picture.

I also had my Class Reunion. Yes it's been twenty years.
On Saturday we went to Duchesne High School for lunch.
We had a feast provided by Mr. Foster our Counselor.
Travis lined all of this up. Many thanks to him.
Travis is standing to the right side of me.
He also put together a power point presentation. It was fun.

On Friday night we met at Hollow Moon Restaurant.
It is owned by the Family above. Todd and Camille Moon.
Todd is my age, and I would recommend Hollow Moon to anyone who likes a good steak.
Of course they have other wonderful Items.
Thanks to the Moons' for a wonderful night.

I think this picture explains it all. I made my kids go. The only one who had fun was Sydney. Randel could hardly keep his eyes open (Ha Ha).

Some of the Girls in my class thought that Randel was a boy who graduated from my class. They keep coming up to him and calling him Kevin. We got a kick out of that.

That's it for today but there's more to come. Notice that Sara's not in the picture. I'll tell you were she is later.

Mills Family Garden

This Spring Randel and Sara decided that they would plant a garden. We have a small area where we have a garden spot. So early spring Sara and her Dad planted peas, radishes and carrots. The radishes popped right up and then the peas followed the carrots never appeared for months. Finally they popped up. In May Randel and Sara planted onions, zucchini, crookneck, cucumbers and tomatoes plants. They never grew, it was like the plants growth got stunted. They finally grew but so did the weeds. The other night we went out to look at the garden and I decided that it was time to weed so we could tell the difference between the plants and the weeds.

Here is a row of onions that have and have not been weeded.
See the difference!!!

The peas were so delicious this year.
We need to pull them out the heat is to much for them.

New Addition to the Family

One night while Jacqi was out with some friends they were driving along and they heard a kitten meowing and so they stoped to see about it. They decided the kitten was homeless and took it home. The group decided that Jacqi was the one that should keep it. She put the kitten in her purse. She got it past her dad but her mother saw it pop its head out of the bag. Needless to say I was a little hesitant about taking in a stray, but Jacqi insisted that we keep the little thing. Its really cute but we already have two other cats. So then came the requirements. The most important one. She had to pay to get that little female fix. The last thing I need is 8 or 9 more kittens running around. Jacqi agreed and Lidya, the kitten, has been a part of the family ever since.
